Yann Martel
Yann Martel, a interesting and curious man, wrote Life of Pi after a series of misfortunes after writings multiple books and having each of them fail. Desperate and broke Yann Martel was looking for anything that may lead him to a success. Looking for anything, one lead him to India were he met a man that told him he had a story that would make him believe in God. This man who is unnamed in the book told him a miraculous story with many adventures and lessons. Yann Martel than wrote the Life of Pi (Back of the book).

- I believe Yann Martel when was writing this even though it was based off a true story he made the character like him. For example both Pi and Yann Martel kept pushing on no matter what. In Yann Martel's case he kept on pushing to find a story that would stick and that he could make a book off. Pi on the other hand had to keep on pushing for his life so he could survive and make it through his journey. They also are both story tellers in the way that Pi throughout the whole story is the narrator and gives the story to the Japanese narrators in two different versions (Martel 311). Yann Martel is a story teller because he not only wrote the book and many others but also was known for being a man with many stories and adventures.
